When not working, Matt loves spending time with his two children and wife, Amber. They enjoy streaming the latest shows and love to travel. Matt is also a vocalist and pianist.

Matt Wade, MMFT is a co-founder of Unstuck Therapy and works primarily with couples & families, either through weekly sessions or multi-day intensives.

Matt’s passion is to help clients recover and thrive in distressed or in-crisis relationships, wounded attachment, & religious trauma through several evidence-based treatments.

Matt is trained in the gold standard  for couples therapy – Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). In addition, he is also trained in Experiential Therapy Models such as: Psychodrama & Gestalt Therapy. Matt is also trained in Brainspotting.

As a Certified SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) Facilitator for Premarital Counseling, Matt also helps engaged couples create a solid foundation for a life-long relationship.

Matt holds an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy  from Trevecca Nazarene University. He is a member of the American Counseling Association, American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy & Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society & International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT).

After 20+ years of ministry/pastoral and counseling work, Matt has taken his career to new depths by earning his degree in Marriage & Family Therapy. His abilities in leading people, building and growing organizations/non-profits, public speaking, and marriage coaching has given him the tools to help you get Unstuck.
