About Matt
Clinician, Speaker, Author
A little over 10 years ago, our marriage hit a wall and we almost didn’t make it. I know many of you are in that same spot, or at least at a place where you know it’s time to work on your relationship. Couples Therapy was our only hope of finding our way back to one another.
In addition, I attended the Living Centered Progam at Onsite Workshops to begin addressing my own mess. The experience at Onsite was so powerful that I made a decision to change, not only my life and marriage, but my career.
After obtaining my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, I co-founded Unstuck Therapy with my friend and colleague, India Lacerda, where the focus is to help other couples experience the reconnection and healing the we experienced in our marriage. As of June1, 2024, I got to return to Onsite, but now as Guide Lecturer and Intensive Specialist. This has been a full-circle moment.
For over 20 years, I’ve tried to dedicate my life to leading people toward healing in one domain or another. I’ve also had the privilege of being a part of some great non-profits and helped shape organizational culture.
As a clinician, my primary focus is couples. I’m passionate about creating a “brave space” through compassionate and creative care, where each couple can achieve emotional wellness and reconnect with their partner in a way that previously might have felt unattainable. I work hard to help couples recover and thrive in distressed or crisis relationships and wounded childhood attachment through 3-Day workshops, using various evidence-based treatments.
My professional training is in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the gold standard for couples therapy. Additionally, I use other Experiential Therapy Models like Psychodrama and Gestalt Therapy, and I’m also trained in Brainspotting.
As a Certified SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) Facilitator, I guide engaged couples in building a solid foundation for their future together.

He is a member of the American Counseling Association, American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy & Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society & International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT).
