What is Attachment Theory?
Attachment theory, developed by psychologist John Bowlby, explains how our early experiences with caregivers shape the way we form emotional bonds throughout our lives. These patterns influence how we approach intimacy, handle conflict, and respond to our partner's needs.
Research has identified four main attachment styles: Secure, Anxious, Avoidant, and Disorganized. While your attachment style isn't fixed, understanding it can help you recognize patterns in your relationships and work toward more secure connections.
This assessment is based on the Experiences in Close Relationships Revised (ECR-R) questionnaire, a widely validated measure of adult attachment.
